An overview of World Class Commissioning Minimize

The Primary Care Trust is here to improve the health and well being of everyone in Tameside and Glossop, and to provide or arrange and pay for people to get the best possible services to stop them from becoming ill or treating them when they do. We focus on:

  • Health and well being for all
  • Prevention
  • Personalised care
  • Choice and safety in the services people use
  • Quality and value

During the summer of 2008, we:

  • developed a 5-year vision for health and healthcare for the people of Tameside and Glossop. This was presented to the PCT Board at a public meeting in Hyde Town Hall on Wednesday 8th October; and
  • looked at our working arrangements, inviting partners to provide feedback on how we are doing, then looking at how best to lead the NHS locally and in partnership, to improve your health and wellbeing, and to raise standards in service. We will be presenting the outcome from our self evaluation also to the October Board meeting.

To learn more about what this means locally, you can:

  • see our local vision for world class commissioning
  • download copies of national guidance, local intelligence and our Strategy (after 8th October 2008) from our on-line WCC Resources Centre
  • see how we managed the work and engaged with people in developing our Strategy
  • access updated information on our priorities and plans in terms of work in progress
