Our world class commissioning programme is set to transform people’s lives locally:

  • because of the emphasis we will place on helping people live longer healthier lives and reduce inequalities
  • by helping people get the services they need when they need them; and that these services meet high standards in delivery and are more personalised, for example offering users greater choice and control over them
  • by making sure we make the best use of the available resources to meet our priorities

We have worked very closely with our local community, service users, and partner organisations over recent months, to make sure that as many people as possible were involved and had their say in developing our plans.  Also, we looked at ourselves to make sure we are able to deliver this transformation by ensuring we have the right services and working arrangements in place.

New Head of Patient Experience appointed :- Monday, April 06, 2009

NHS Tameside and Glossop have appointed a new Head of Patient Experience. Colin Hill brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge within the Customer Experience field. He has worked with numerous Local Authorities and public sector organisations over the last 15-20 years to ensure that customers influence and help improve local service delivery.

Colin will have a key role in driving forward our plans to ensure that services reflect the health needs of our population. He will lead on the delivery of our plans in relation to World Class Commissioning Competency 3.
